Why an allergy test for henna?Updated 4 months ago

To ensure the safety of your clients and to avoid any potential allergies, it's crucial to conduct an allergy test beforehand. When a client requests henna brows for the first time, performing a patch test, also known as an allergy test, is essential. This is because one of the added ingredients to henna is p-phenylenediamine (PPD), which, although present in very low amounts, can still cause unpleasant skin reactions. For the test, always use one of the darker shades, such as Dyotics Ash Brown or Raven, even if you intend to dye the eyebrows with a lighter shade.
